10.1.25 - in the mighty name of jesus

Good morning ,

Prayer is one of those things that many of us do not dedicate much time to, and then we wonder why we feel like we can’t hear from God. We have no problem scrolling on social media, or calling to catch up with a friend or relative, or watching a new release on Netflix. But when it comes to prayer, we are busy, or too tired. 

When we get desperate enough or the situation gets hard enough - then we reach out to God to intervene and provide us with some sort of relief. It’s quite sad that we can treat God this way, but we do. I do. I call on someone else to give me advice instead of taking it to the Lord . I worry myself into a headache before I ask God to give me wisdom and guidance.

We don’t try to, but it happens in the busy-ness of life. God continues to remind me to prioritize prayer. Prioritize exalting His name, giving Him thanks and bringing all requests and desires to him first. He should be the best friend we call to share the news with, first. He should be the mentor we ask for advice on this tough situation, first. He should be the comforter we share our struggles with, first. 

Prayer changes things. Prayer connects us to the one who can do the impossible. Prayer allows us to ask with confidence anything according to God’s will and believe He will do it.
