10.29.25 - i’m too tired
Good morning ,
Last Friday was awful. We experienced another episode with my daughter’s behavior issues. Fortunately, God has provided community and resources so that we can get her some professional help. With that being said, I have been mentally exhausted for the past several days.
The Lord convicted me on Sunday night about the posture of my prayers. I often pray when I wake up in the morning. I lay in bed. I won’t get out of bed because it’s still dark out and it’s warm under the blankets. I’m not ready to get up. I doze off. I wake up. I get distracted by my thoughts, and I’m not focused on my prayer.
On Sunday, I was reminded of the time when I got out of bed and prayed on my knees. It took discipline, and it took me wanting to talk to God more than wanting extra sleep.
On Monday, I really wanted to get out of bed and cry out to God on my hands and knees. On Tuesday, I knew I needed to do that, but I chose not to. The same thing happened. I laid in bed praying between dozing on and off.
Today, I was reading in Psalm 119 and I came across some scripture that really convicted me about this.
Psalm 119:146-148 says this:
I call to you; save me, that I may observe your testimonies.
I rise before dawn and cry for help; I hope in your words.
My eyes are aware before the watches of the night, that I may meditate on your promise.
The Lord isn’t angry with me. I’m not in trouble with Him. But He wants my attention —my full attention —so we can talk and also so that I can listen.
This really convicted me, and I wanted to share it with you. I don’t know what your prayer life looks like. Mine is getting better, and I know this intentional time with God in the morning is just what I need. And it may be what you need too.
I didn’t want to write to you about my motherhood journey. It’s hard to see your beautiful child who has such a bright future struggle. But I have hope that God will heal her. I know that this will be another testimony where God will get the glory. It will be her testimony to share the healing power of God.
Whatever it is you are dealing with, take it to God in fasting and prayer. He hears our prayers, and he is close to the broken-hearted.
I appreciate you being part of this community—it's always more than skin care. 💛
If today’s email encouraged you, feel free to forward it to a friend who might need it too.
Love,
Danielle
